Preparing your home SPA

Why Spa?
Because we it helps us relax…
“Research show the serious effects of stress on our bodies, which makes us more likely to get sick and can also aggravate any problems we may already have”. (US Department of Human Services Stress and your health)”

Make time for yourself. It’s important to care for yourself. Think of this as an order from your doctor, so you don’t feel guilty! No matter how busy you are, you can try to set aside at least 15 minutes each day in your schedule to do something for yourself, like taking a bath, going for a
walk or talking to a friend. http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/stress.htm

To create the perfect home Spa you will need to do the following:
• Schedule your home spa just like any other important appointment.
• Preheat the room you will use, to cozy and help relax the muscles
• Prepare your space with soy candles, magazines or a favorite book and music.

You will also need the Home Spa Tool kit:

1 Bath salts-
pamper, cleanse and rejuvenate. Place ½ cup into a tub just before you step in. Soak for 15-20 minutes.

2 Sugar Scrub Exfoliate, Detoxify, Revitalize. Use from toes to shoulders in the shower or bath by gently rubbing on with your hand, exfoliating mitt, brush or loofah in circular motion.

3 Body lotion, Shea soufflĂ©, oil or any other moisturizer – moisturize, protect and nourish
Apply while the body is still warm and moist from bathing, or showering, pay special attention to elbows, knees and heels

4 Robe, nice fluffy towels, and soft socks or slippers - pamper

Remember to take time for your self, you are worth it!

August - Happiness Happens Month...

Did you know that August is Happiness Happens Month?

In 1999 the The Secret Society of Happy People declared August 8th as Admit You’re Happy Day (now Happiness Happens Day). Thanks to the response of not-so-secretly-happy people from around the world, the celebration was expanded to include the month of August in 2000.
There are two purposes of the month:

Recognize and express happiness
Don’t rain on other people’s parades

Although the purpose of the month hasn’t changed—its name has—to Happiness Happens Day and Month. This name change better reflects the meaning of the month—reminding people that despite global and personal chaos that happiness still happens.

In 1999, they asked the governors in all 50 states for a proclamation. Governors from 19 states sent proclamations for Admit You’re Happy Day. Find out if your governor was happy, a stick in the mud, or parade-rainer.

If you want to celebrate Happiness Happens Month & Day here are a few ideas:

In August on the 8th (the official Happiness Happens Day) or anytime during August for Happiness Happens Month wear your SILVER shades, donate your SILVER coins—
Pay someone’s toll, bus or subway fare,
take up a donation for your favorite charity,
or pass out SILVER kisses.

Why SILVER?
Because not-so-secretly happy people have a way of finding the SILVER lining in even the darkest clouds.

Rejuvenate - Take time for yourself!

Make time to treat yourself to a warm (not hot) bath infused with our bath salts or bath teas. Relax and enjoy your time alone. After your relaxing indulgence, as a last step, take a scoop full of sugar scrub to exfoliate the dead skin. Let those wonderful oils moisturize your body. Pat dry with a soft warm towel, and while your skin is still plump and hydrated, smooth on moisturizing body lotion or shea souffle to seal the moment. This will keep your skin wonderfully moist through the day/night. Indulge... you are worth it!

Tips for moisturizing your skin...

Maintaining your skin’s precious moisture balance is the key to radiant youthful-looking skin. Keep your body and skin healthy and hydrated by drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water per day, and be vigilant about using emollient creams to keep your skin moisturized and protected, and remember that there's no better time to moisturize, than immediately after your bath or shower....this is what will keep your skin moist and plump for hours...take the time...you are worth it!
